You & Me. About Us.

You.

You are about to make one of the biggest investments of your life for your family. You need the best guidance on all your options—the process, planning, costs and of course, design. You can benefit from my experience and together we can create successful architecture that meets your needs—and beyond. I work with clients, not for clients and without you there is no us. Architexture is all about you.

All architecture is bespoke, there are no ready-made, pre-packaged solutions. It is made to measure. For you. The best architecture responds to people, place and light—something I aspire to achieve in all projects, whatever the size.

I can create and tailor a solution unique to your needs and aspirations.

Me.

When I discovered as a child that architecture existed, the idea that I could improve peoples lives and shape our built environment was mind-blowing.

I fell in love with architecture and it hasn’t let me go. Helping people improve their homes and lifestyles is what gets me out of bed each morning. And the belief that everyone deserves a home that works for them and brings joy into their lives. I consider myself privileged to be trusted by clients to shape and improve their homes and lifestyles.

My Service Features.

I will HELP you achieve your dreams and I will add VALUE to your project. My focus is not just the design quality of your project — but the successful, timely and on-budget delivery of it.

Its About You.

My service is not about me, its for and about YOU. Architecture is a business of people not buildings, where relationships and trust are paramount. Architexture is a company of one, therefore I am my business and you'll get me from start to finish. It is my role to understand and solve your particular problems and needs be they functional, emotional or environmental. I will guide you through a personalised design process.

Guide, Ally, Advisor.

You may not have any experience with a construction project and what you need most throughout a complicated and unfamiliar process is a trusted advisor. That is potentially the most valuable aspect of my service offering to you - the unbiased advice and guidance of an experienced professional. I am by your side, with you all the way. At no point are you left wondering what happens next.

Question, Test, Provoke.

A lot of my clients come to me asking for one thing, or fixated on a particular solution or image. Following some probing questioning and sketches, I often find that they actually require something else. Perhaps not wildly different, but tailored to their actual need. My aim is to create the home you actually need for the life you want to live. Nothing is taken for granted and everything is questioned.

Straight Talking.

I always endeavour to avoid the use of jargon and technical terminology when speaking about architecture. However, sometimes it has become so ingrained that I fail to see it! I don’t expect you to be or become industry experts, so if anything is ever unclear I will happily clarify. My architecture is always ambitious but never pretentious. My approach is creative, but grounded.

Timing That Suits You.

You have commitments and a busy life. I make the process as frictionless as possible by visiting you and facilitating evening and Saturday appointments. I will always present my proposals in person. When we get to site, we will agree suitable times for meetings - early morning often works best around clients work commitments. My service is built around making life easier for YOU.

Communication.

At all times I will communicate with and update you. There cannot be too much communication where client peace of mind is concerned. I use an exciting new industry-specific software to track projects and keep clients constantly informed re progress and updates. If knowledge is power, communication is peace of mind.

Let’s build something beautiful. Together.

FAQ’s.

Architects are really expensive. Can I afford one?

You are spending potentially hundreds of thousands of euro to shape the place you and your family call home. A good architect will save you money and ensure you get the best results from your project. Get professional advice and get it right first time!

_

I don’t know what to ask or how this works.

As a homeowner you may only work with an architect once in your lifetime. I do not expect you to be an expert. You will be educated and guided through a proven process. And you may feel a bit like an expert at the end!

_

My project is straight-forward and my builder says he can design it with me.

You would be shocked at how often I am approached to try and undo a previous ill thought out extension. Don’t be that person with regrets and an expensive mistake on your hands. A good builder recognises the importance of inputs from Architects and Engineers and will be reluctant to engage in a project without them.

_

I have a strict budget - will an Architect design something more expensive than I can afford?

Architects are not cost professionals but we have the experience to design within a cost range. Interestingly, the single biggest cause of project budgets increasing is homeowners reassessing what they need and opting to invest more. A lot of projects begin with a budget figure and a wish list and the hope that the two are compatible. Either the project is scaled to suit the available budget or you choose to invest more, to gain more, where appropriate.
