The New Black.

Completely outdated and with a BER-F rating, this 1950's 4-bedroom detached dormer bungalow needed some clever interventions to get from being a house to a home — functionally and environmentally. A modestly-sized new rear box extension creates bright, airy living spaces that connect to the garden via a new generous stepped terrace. Glass doors create visual connection and flow internally while allowing for acoustic separation. New windows and doors, internal wall insulation, and underfloor heating, fed from a heat-pump, complete the thermal upgrade. The result is a bright and spacious contemporary home for a delighted young family.
